Creative Lab/Maker Space Teacher (Grades 1-12) (2024 - 2025 SY)

The Lang School seeks creative, passionate, and dedicated teachers and specialists to support our twice-exceptional (2e) students — gifted students with learning differences — across a variety of grades, subjects, and clinical support areas. We offer our highly promising learners in grades 1-12 a rigorous, learner-centered, empirically validated education with integrated supports that foster independence and self-advocacy.

We are excited to announce an immediate opening for a Creative Lab/Maker Space Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an exceptional opportunity for a confident, creative educator passionate about hands-on learning and fostering innovation in students across grades 1-12.

The Creative Lab/Maker Space Teacher at The Lang School will guide students through an interdisciplinary curriculum that spans traditional visual arts, making, tinkering, and engineering projects. This position is designed to support a wide array of creative expressions and innovations, blending elements of studio art, design, fabrication, and engineering with a focus on fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with students of all ages, and have experience in design thinking, interdisciplinary project-based learning, and supporting twice-exceptional (2e) learners.

The Creative Lab/Maker Space Teacher will have the unique opportunity to support students' individual interests and develop their creative and technical skills across multiple disciplines, often in direct collaboration with content area teachers. An openness to supporting interdisciplinary projects and collaboration with other faculty is a key aspect of this role.

  • are committed to social justice and equity through action, reflection, and growth and to an examination of the intersection of their identities and the identities of their students and colleagues to support the creation of equitable learning spaces

  • are tenacious and possess a “whatever it takes” attitude to support student learning that derives from adaptability, flexibility, and unwavering kindness and patience
