MyBib is a free (and ad-free!) bibliography and citation generator that makes accurate citations for you to copy straight into your academic assignments and papers.

Citation Style: MLA 8

MLA (Modern Language Association) style is most commonly used to write papers and cite sources within the liberal arts and Humanities. Most teachers require MLA citations for their assignments. Ask your teacher if you're not sure!

Although we currently do not have subscriptions to private databases, the #1 recommended database for upper school students that is currently free and accessible is JSTOR.

JSTOR is a digital library encompassing books and other primary sources as well as current issues of journals in the humanities and social sciences.

It is a trusted, peer-reviewed, highly used source.

We encourage our upper school students to use JSTOR to conduct scholarly research.

MLA 8 identifies these 9 elements to include, in this order, in your citation.
Not every source will have all of these elements though!

Why use JSTOR and not just google or wikipedia??
