Elyssa Gaffin
Board Member
Elyssa Gaffin has over 20 years of experience as a non-profit professional, is a graduate of Cornell University and holds a Master of Public Administration in Non-profit Management from Baruch College. Elyssa was the founding director of Young Judaea Sprout Brooklyn Day Camp which grew to over 300 campers over her 5 year tenure. Additionally in her career, Elyssa has taught English to young children in the Canary Islands, and has worked for the noble causes of landmine removal, philanthropic giving circles, improved public health in NYC and AIDS vaccine research. Elyssa recently became certified by the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities as Self-Direction Support Broker.
Elyssa is an avid volunteer for organizations including Crossroads Community Services, Invisible Hands, Pride NYC and God's Love We Deliver. She has received multiple awards for her volunteer endeavors. Elyssa is on the PTA Executive Board and serves as co-VP of Hospitality at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts High School. In addition, Elyssa is on the Board of Trustees at Sutton Place Synagogue.
Elyssa is the proud parent of a Lang graduate who spent 10 transformative years there. Elyssa served for 2 years as Co-President of the Lang Parents’ Association alongside Rob Cox and was an active member of the PA throughout her time at Lang. Elyssa and her husband Bryan live in Manhattan with their two teenage children.
