Lower School Teacher

UNIVERSITY OF MAINE AT MACHIAS - BA IN ENGLISH LITERATURE
UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MAINE - MS IN EDUCATION, K-8

I am thrilled to join this vibrant community as a Fourth Grade Teacher, bringing with me over 25 years of experience in education. My journey has led me to Lang, where I am excited to continue nurturing an authentic sense of belonging among my students, ensuring each feels valued and empowered. Through inquiry-based learning, I aim to cultivate a lasting love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.

As a native New Yorker, I found my educational calling in Maine, earning my BA in English Literature and a Masters Degree in Education. My NYC career in private schools have been deeply rewarding, yet I've always felt that a school like Lang, where every student's uniqueness is cherished, was rare and precious.

Outside of teaching, I take immense pride in being a mother to Jackson, a remarkable twice-exceptional student whose passion for guitar and musical talent are incredibly inspiring. As Jackson enters his senior year, I continue to learn and grow alongside him, drawing from both my professional expertise and personal experiences as a parent.

My dedication to education is rooted in the belief that learning is transformative. My approach combines love, patience, ethics, and acceptance to nurture purpose, passion, and talent in every student. At Lang, I am committed to fostering an environment where every student's exceptionalities are not just recognized but celebrated.
